The film has been produced at "Camp Altenrath", an old and abandoned Belgian barrack near Cologne Airport (CGN).
These barracks have been abandoned in 2002 and now after several controversies concerning the use of the area, it is lying waste and decaying more and more.
The police, fire brigades and Special Forces are the only people using the terrain for mission training.
That is the reason for nearly all windows now being shot or damaged, most of the doors being burst open or kicked in.
This kind of "destructive use" creates the unique atmosphere of this location. You immediately remember pictures of war scenes of Iraq or Kosovo.
The buildings having been equipped with new windows just before the abandonment resemble ruins which you might only find re-conquered by nature after years.
